Free Audio Tools

Turn OGG, MP3, M4A, FLAC and other audio files into WAV in your browser. It runs in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded.

About these audio tools

The audio tool here turns an audio file into an uncompressed WAV file, entirely in your browser. It uses your browser's own decoder, so it opens what your browser can play โ€” usually MP3, AAC/M4A, OGG, Opus, FLAC and WebM audio โ€” and writes standard 16-bit PCM WAV that every audio editor accepts.

WAV is the format to reach for when another program refuses a compressed file, or when you want to edit audio without decoding it again each time. It is large: a minute of CD-quality stereo WAV is about 10 MB. Converting to MP3 needs an encoder this site does not include.

Audio Tools โ€” questions

Is my audio file uploaded?

No. The file is decoded and re-written as WAV inside your browser, and the result is saved straight to your device.

Does converting to WAV improve the quality?

No. WAV stores exactly what the decoder produced. Detail removed when the original MP3 or AAC was made cannot be restored; WAV only stops further loss when you edit and save again.

Can I convert to MP3 here?

Not at the moment. The tool writes WAV only; making MP3 files needs an encoder the site does not ship.
