The short version
The tools run in your browser. What you type into them and the files you open in them stay on your device and are never sent to us. We use Google Analytics only if you accept it in the cookie banner, and no advertising trackers or accounts.
What the tools do with your data
Nothing you enter leaves your device. Text, numbers, passwords you generate and images you compress or resize are processed by JavaScript running in your browser. When you close the page, they are gone. We never see them.
One tool needs outside data: the Currency Converter asks a third-party service for exchange rates (see below). That request contains only the currency codes; the amounts you type are converted in your browser and are never sent.
What our web server records
Like almost every website, the server that delivers our pages keeps standard access logs: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page. These logs are kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting — for example, to detect and block attacks — and are not used to build profiles of visitors. They never contain anything you typed into a tool.
Cookies and local storage
We do not set cookies ourselves. Google Analytics sets cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage. Some tools may remember a preference (such as a chosen unit) in your browser's local storage; that stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
Third parties
Pages load only from our own domain, with one exception: Google's analytics tag, which sets no cookies unless you accept it (below). There are no ad networks and no other third-party scripts or fonts.
The one exception is a data request, not a script: when you use the Currency Converter, your browser asks Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev), a free exchange-rate service, for the day's rates. It also asks for the rates of a past date when you convert “On a date”, for a period of one rate to draw a chart, and — if you press “Show the sources” — for the list of central banks behind a rate. Like any web request, it reveals your IP address and what was requested (currency codes and, for a past date or a chart, the dates) to that service. No amounts or other input are sent. No other tool contacts another domain.
Statistics (Google Analytics)
Every page includes Google's analytics tag, set up with Google Consent Mode so that it starts with all storage switched off. A banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics. Until you press Accept, no analytics cookie is set and the tag sends Google only cookieless signals without identifiers (such as that a page was viewed), which Google may use to estimate overall traffic. If you accept, Google Analytics records which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, the device and browser type and how the site is used, and sets cookies (named _ga…) to recognise a returning browser. We use it only to see which pages help and where people get stuck. What you type or open in a tool is never sent to it.
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; declining after accepting deletes the analytics cookies. Google processes this data under its privacy policy; you can also install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, UK GDPR and similar laws (including the CCPA) you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. In practice the only personal data we hold is the server access log described above; statistics collected through Google Analytics are held by Google and can be stopped with Cookie settings. Write to support@flipconverto.com and we will answer within 30 days.
Children
The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If how the site handles data changes — for example if we add a feature that uploads files — this page will say so first, and the date at the top will change.
